Lessons

Whether you would liketo ride for recreation or competition, our lesson program will help you reach your "grand" goals. Massachusetts certified instructors teach riding lessons at Grandview Farm.

  • Saddleseat, Huntseat, Western
  • Students ages 3 and up
  • Beginner to advanced
  • Private Lessons (required for beginners)
  • Group Lessons (intermediate or advanced riders)
  • Girls, boys, men, women, young, young at heart

    Beginner = has never or only lightly ridden
    Intermediate = can steer; ride a horse at a walk and trot, post
    Advanced = walk, trot, canter: comfortable riding with others

Licensed instructor Allison Sousa, now accepting new students and horses for training.

Attire: Long pants and closed toed shoes or boots (no hiking boots) with a heel is okay to begin riding. Once you decide to continue the instructor at Grandview will guide you where to purchase your Kentucky jods or breeches, boots and helmet.

Lessons are scheduled the same time weekly
Please arrive 20 minutes ahead of lesson to be ready on time.

Cancellation Policy: There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If lessons are not cancelled and rescheduled 24 hours in advance there is a $25 fee. If lessons are missed, not cancelled and rescheduled there is a full lesson fee charge.

Grandview welcomes truck in lessons -- Bring your own horse -- have a "grand" lesson. Add $5.00 to fee.

Lesson Fees:
1/2 hour private (required for beginners) $40.00 each
1 hour private $50.00 each
45 minutes- 1 hour group (not for beginners - min 3) $40.00 each

Truck in fee: $5.00 each
